Founded by Florencio Gonzalez in 2002, Gonzalez Painters & Contractors started with a vision and a dedicated crew. Florencio’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish the business after noticing a gap in advertising for contractors in the area. He recalls the early days, saying, “People wanted to give a chance to a guy like me, which I appreciated.” Fast forward to today, our team has grown to over 80 employees, serving Durham, Raleigh, and beyond, and generating millions in revenue annually.

Embracing Digital Tools for Success

Digital transformation has been instrumental in our growth journey. Since 2010, we’ve been using Google Workspace to stay organized, coordinate schedules, analyze data, and maintain scorecards. Our online presence has been amplified through Google Ads, which now account for approximately 40% of our annual customer leads.

Our Google Business Profile has been a valuable platform for showcasing our work, with nearly 6,000 potential customers viewing it in just one quarter. This visibility has resulted in 321 calls to our company and 835 clicks through to our website. Jesus Avendaño, who joined our team in 2023, notes the significant growth in our Google reviews, saying, “We’re able to see our growth over time with Google reviews.”

Giving Back to the Community

Beyond business success, giving back to the community remains close to our hearts. We have been actively involved in fundraising for nonprofits, painting sports fields, and collaborating with high schoolers on mural projects. Florencio encapsulates our ethos perfectly, stating, “Seeing how our work transforms houses feels good. Seeing a customer’s smile feels great.”
